GROTON, CT— Ivan Colón has been named director/sales and marketing for the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa here. Prior to his appointment, Colón was director/sales and marketing at the Hotel Viking in Newport, RI. Prior, he was director/sales and marketing at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Spa in Farmington, PA. He also held various positions with the Westin South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa, CA; the Century Plaza Hotel and Tower, Los Angeles; the Westin Hotel Tabor Center, Denver; and the Inverness Hotel and Golf Club, Englewood, CO. The Mystic Marriott features 285 rooms, more than 20,000 square feet of meeting space and the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa. Waterford Hotel Group, a hotel management firm currently operating 26 properties in 10 states, manages the property.
