BROOKINGS, SD—My Place Hotels of America, LLC has opened the 63-room, four-story Brookings My Place Hotel here. Located at 711 32nd Ave., the economy extended-stay facility is independently owned by KF Brookings Hotel, LLC, managed by Venerts Hotel Management, Inc, and was constructed under the charge of Puetz Corporation. The Brookings My Place Hotel marks the 20th newly constructed hotel to open in the chain within just the past three years.
“I’m excited about the opening of the economy extended-stay My Place Hotel in east Brookings. This four-story hotel complements the Swiftel Center and Whiskey Creek Restaurant,” said Al Kurtenbach, investor & co-owner, KF Brookings Hotel, LLC.
Each extended-stay guestroom features a My Kitchen, complete with a two-burner cooktop, microwave and full refrigerator. The property is pet friendly and also includes on-site laundry facilities, free high-speed Internet service and a 24-hour My Store located in the hotel, as well as the new Breakfast in Bed option.
“Brookings is a key South Dakota market serving the multiple demand generator needs of guests from leisure to business and from transient to extended stay. We are very pleased to have worked with the development team of Al Kurtenbach and Bill Folkerts of KF Brookings Hotel, LLC as our franchise partner in Brookings. As we rapidly expand the My Place Hotels of America growth strategy across the state, region and the country, many hotel owner-operators like Bill and Al are rapidly recognizing both the value and the efficiencies created by the use of My Place Hotels prototype design and operating platform,” said Terry Kline, EVP of franchise development, My Place Hotels of America, LLC.
My Place Hotels of America, LLC currently has 20 hotels open and operating, with a near-term pipeline of more than 18 additional hotels and midterm commitments for upwards of 40 more hotels to follow, planned in more than a dozen states.
