PARSIPPANY, NJ— The latest flurry of position changes and shifts in job responsibility continues within Cendant Corp.’s Hotel Group, keyed by the promotion of Mark Young to senior vp/hotel services for Ramada Franchise Systems. Young, who had been serving as Super 8 vp/hotel services for the last eight months, succeeds David Coffey, who was appointed vp/distribution in the Hotel Group’s Franchise Services department. In their new positions, Young will report to Ramada President Paul Hanley, while Coffey will now report to Annmarie Fairweather, vp/franchise services. Earlier in his Cendant career, Young served as group vp/hotel services, responsible for providing operations support to Cendant’s AmeriHost Inn, Super 8, Wingate Inn, Knights Inn and Villager brands. From 2000 to 2001, he served the Ramada brand as vp/operations. Coffey previously had served as: vp/field services, responsible for overseeing the Integration Services and Field Services departments; vp/marketing information services; director of reservation support services; and Ramada regional director of marketing – Northeast region. In a related development, Alice Lazore, senior director of franchise support services, was promoted to vp/operations for the Super 8 brand, replacing Young. Lazore— who will now report to John Valletta, Super 8 president— began her Cendant career in 1997 as a franchise services manager for the Super 8 brand and subsequently was promoted to franchise services director and senior director of franchise services.
