NEW YORK— New marketing partnerships will generate more chances to network for hoteliers attending the 91st Annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show to be held at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center here in November. The partnerships, which include a combination of lodging associations, educational institutions, culinary and military groups, will also result in new prospects for the 1,400 exhibitors at the IH/MR&S, which will take place from Nov. 11 to Nov. 14. “We’re excited to introduce several new marketing partners for the 2006 IH/M&RS, which will benefit both exhibitors and attendees,” said Christian Falkenberg, show manager, George Little Management. “While exhibitors will find new prospects shopping the aisles, hoteliers and other industry professionals will experience enhanced networking opportunities through the involvement of these organizations,” Falkenberg said. “They will bring unique perspective to the show due to the specific markets they represent.” The new marketing partnerships for the 2006 show include American Culinary Federation chapters from Long Island, NY, Philadelphia and Southern Tier, NY; Club Managers Association of America; Club Managers Association of America Metropolitan Chapter; Florida State University; and the International Designers Association, New York Chapter. The U.S. Air Force Services and U.S. Navy Visitors Quarters are “long-standing” IH/M&RS marketing partners who will return to the show, Falkenberg noted. More than 20 other marketing partners including hotel associations, culinary organizations and educational institutions will also be back this year, he reported. “In an industry that is constantly evolving and becoming increasingly niche-oriented, it’s important that we deliver a diverse crowd of attendees who represent targeted segments of the industry,” Falkenberg said. “Our marketing partners represent everyone from hoteliers and restaurateurs to club managers and interior designers, each group playing a role that is essential to the industry as a whole.” From seminars to social events, there are many opportunities to network and learn at the IH/M&RS, which this year is expected to attract 35,000 attendees. The show gets underway on Saturday, Nov. 11, with the Hospitality Leadership Forum, a full-day conference featuring top executives offering their views on forces and trends that will shape the industry’s future. The Forum’s keynote address will be delivered by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
