UNCASVILLE, CT—As part of a major $740 million expansion, the Mohegan Sun casino resort here plans to construct a new 1,000-room hotel scheduled to be completed in 2010. The hotel will feature 300 specially-themed House of Blues guestrooms. In addition, the Mohegan Tribe, which owns the resort, plans to build a 1,500-seat House of Blues Music Hall, a separate House of Blues reservations area, and a 7,500-square-foot members-only House of Blues Foundation Room. Other additions include a new 64,000-square-foot casino and expanded retail and restaurant space. Originally opened in 1996, Mohegan Sun now attracts an estimated 35,000 visitors a day.
