LOS ANGELES—MGM Mirage reports that it has become a consultant for a planned American Indian casino in Palm Springs, CA, marking the companys first foray into this growing arena of gaming, according to a Reuters report. Under the deal, MGM Mirage, whose resorts include the Mirage, Bellagio and MGM Grand in Las Vegas, will consult on a casino being developed by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. Media reports said the agreement was valued at $2.7 million over four years. The deal was part of a previous agreement between the tribe and independent consultant Ken Rosevear, who did work for both the Agua Caliente and MGM Mirage before joining MGM Mirage as a full-time staff member earlier this year. Other companies with management deals for American Indian casinos include Harrahs Entertainment and Park Place Entertainment Corp., as well as Station Casinos. SOURCE: Reuters
