Meditrust Sells Nursing Homes, Focuses On Hotels

DALLAS Meditrust Cos. completed the sale of 78 nursing homes and a medical office building for $441 million in cash and debt as part of a plan to exit the health-care property business and focus on its La Quinta Inns hotel chain. Meditrust s 299 La Quinta Inns account for 84% of its real estate assets. (4/3/01)
