LONDON The Sunday Telegraph here reported that Millennium & Copthorne Plc, a U.K. hotelier whose properties include The Plaza in New York, may put its Copthorne chain of hotels up for sale this week for about $338 million. Millennium & Copthorne has appointed Insignia Hotel Partners to advise it on the disposal, said the paper, which also reported that the company would prefer to sell the Copthorne chain to one buyer who will keep the brand.
Millennium & Copthorne is likely to sell 30 to 40 hotels but wants to keep the best Copthorne sites such as Glasgow and Paris for its Millennium brand, said reports.
