BALTIMORE, MD—Marshall Management has expanded its management portfolio in the upper- upscale segment with the signing of a contract to operate the Inn at the Colonnade Doubletree Hotel here. Located at 4 West Parkway, across from Johns Hopkins University, the 125-room property is a short distance from Baltimore’s Inner Harbor and neighboring ball parks. It is the sixth property to be added to the company’s management portfolio in 2006. “We will oversee the completion of a major renovation to include completely making over the rooms and meeting space, as well as finishing up some small touches to the public space,” said Michael Marshall, president. “We are conducting the renovation in phases to avoid disruption to our guests, with a planned completion date of early spring 2007.” The hotel features an indoor, glass-domed swimming pool, whirlpools and high-speed Internet access, and a state-of-the-art fitness center will be built as part of the renovation. Guestrooms and suites will be completely refurbished and include such amenities as 32-inch, high-definition, flat-screen televisions and an array of modern, residential-style furnishings and appointments. Guest bathroom upgrades will include enhanced lighting, framed mirrors, new vanities with granite counters, updated fixtures and a curved shower rod. With nine meeting rooms and ballrooms and more than 9,000 square feet of meeting and function space, the hotel can accommodate meetings and social events of up to 200 persons.
