SALISBURY, MD—Marshall Hotels & Resorts, Inc. added four hotel managements contracts and one country club management engagement in the 2013 first quarter.
The five new management contracts includes the Magnuson Hotel & Conference Center, Tyler, Texas, a 159-room full-service hotel with more than 10,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. The hotel, which recently was rebranded to the Magnuson flag, is getting ready to embark on a major renovation program.
Other properties include the 103-room Ramada Vineland, NJ, which offers an outdoor swimming pool, three restaurants and more than 4,700 sq. ft. of meeting space; the former Quality Inn Hotel, Carmel Church, VA, which will be rebranded and renovated in the third quarter; the 128-room Fernwood Hotel and Convetion Center, Bushkill PA, which offers indoor and outdoor swimming pools, snowtubing options, four restaurants and bars, a golf course, and horseback riding trails; and Vestal Hills Country Club in Binghmanton, NY.
Mike Marshall, president and CEO, noted that the company has seen an uptick in local banks wanting to dispose of lender-owned assets that require massive renovations to stay competitive, and the company expects to see a continued increase in these types of properties changing hands.
