WASHINGTON D.C. Marriott International plans to add six hotels in the Middle East in the next 15 months, increasing its presence in the region by nearly 30%.

The 310-room Taba Marriott Hotel & Beach Resort on the Red Sea and the 347-room JW Marriott Mirage City Resort Cairo will open early next year and will expand Marriott s Egyptian portfolio to six properties.

The remaining four planned hotels include the 178-room Renaissance Tunis Hotel in Tunisia; the 100-room Courtyard by Marriott Petra in Jordan; the 216-room Jordan Valley Marriott Resort at the Dead Sea in Jordan; and the 150-room Madinah Marriott Hotel in Saudi Arabia. (9/13/00)
