WASHINGTON, D.C. Marriott International recently celebrated the graduation of the 3,000th participant in the company s welfare-to-work program, Pathways to Independence. The milestone was recognized with graduation ceremonies held at the Key Bridge Marriott Hotel in Arlington, VA and the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Center.

Pathways to Independence is a six-week, pre-employment, life and occupational skills training program designed to help individuals on public assistance transition to a productive career in the hospitality industry. The program began in 1990 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel and has extended to more than 40 locations in the United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. (4/30/01)
