SOCHI, RUSSIA—In time for the 2014 Winter Olympics, Marriott International has opened Sochi Marriott Krasnaya Polyana Hotel, the global chain’s first hotel located here.
The ski and spa hotel under Marriott’s signature brand, Marriott Hotels, is situated at the new Gorky Gorod ski resort in Krasnaya Polyana. The Sochi Marriott Krasnaya Polyana Hotel is positioned at the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains within walking distance of ski slopes. The hotel is operated by an affiliate of U.S.-based Interstate Hotels & Resorts.
Just half an hour from Sochi Airport by express train, Sochi Marriott Krasnaya Polyana is situated next to a new convention center. Rates at Sochi Marriott Krasnaya Polyana start from 6,000 rubles (£108) a night.
“We are very proud to open the first Marriott hotel in Sochi and be part of the development of the region, which will continue in 2014 and beyond,” stated Amy McPherson, president and managing director of Marriott International in Europe.
Spread over seven floors, the hotel’s 428 rooms and suites are inspired by natural materials. The River Café, the hotel’s restaurant, serves international cuisine with European, American, Russian and Asian influences. Italian pastas, risottos and pizzas and a wine list can be enjoyed at The L’Olivio restaurant.
The SOUL spa houses nine treatment rooms, including private spa suites. The range of services extends from traditional massages and treatments to a Snow Shower, where guests can enjoy hydro massage, aromatherapy, Turkish bath and Finnish sauna.
