WASHINGTON, DC— Marriott International said that its board of directors has appointed Ernst & Young LLP as the companys independent auditor for 2002, replacing Arthur Andersen LLP. Arthur Andersen had served as the companys independent accountants since 1959. Bill Marriott, chairman/CEO of Marriott, Intl. said last month that the company was evaluating its options in going with another auditing firm.
