BETHESDA, MD—Marriott International Inc. and Japan’s Mori Trust Group opened five Marriott Hotels across Japan—Karuizawa Marriott; Izu Marriott Hotel Shuzenji; Fuji Marriott Hotel Lake Yamanaka; Lake Biwa Marriott Hotel; and Nanki-Shirahama Marriott Hotel.

Authentic regional cuisines will be served at the hotels’ restaurants; all are named The Grill & Dining G Restaurant.
Spread across four wings, the Karuizawa Marriott Hotel has 142 rooms designed in a modern style fused with Japanese elements. There are suites and premium rooms with forest views and private hot springs. Amenities include a spa, fitness center and communal bath. The hotel is also pet-friendly.
Izu Marriott Hotel Shuzenji is located in the wooded hills of the Izu Peninsula. Interiors of this 128-room hotel merge contemporary Japanese aesthetic with Western influences, some with private open-air baths. There are diverse wellness options such as a large communal onsen hot spring, bedrock bath and 24-hour fitness center. There is also a gym, golf and putting range, as well as tennis courts.
At the 105-room Fuji Marriott Hotel Lake Yamanaka, there are views of Mount Fuji. This hotel offers Japanese tatami and streamlined Western-style guestrooms. Premium rooms have private hot spring baths and spacious executive suites. Amenities include two conference rooms, a communal onsen hot spring and tennis courts.
Located close to Kyoto, Lake Biwa Marriott Hotel has 274 guestrooms, which include Japanese-style rooms and executive suites. Offerings include a communal hot spring, 24-hour fitness center as well as affiliated recreational facilities such as a gym, tennis and futsal courts, an indoor swimming pool and a planetarium with 166 seats.
Mountain trails and beaches can be seen from the 182 Japanese and Western-style rooms at the Nanki-Shirahama Marriott Hotel. Amenities include a large communal onsen hot spring and an outdoor swimming pool with a children’s zone in the summer months.
