WASHINGTON— Proving its commitment to guest technology, Marriott International Inc. has completed its initial rollout of wireless high-speed Internet access to 400 hotels in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Germany. The deployment is the largest wireless high-speed internet access initiative in the hotel industry to date, bringing wireless service to guests staying at select Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard, Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, Fairfield Inn and SpringHill Suites hotels. The wireless service is available in hotel lobbies, meeting rooms and public spaces. The hotels will charge $2.95 for the first 15 minutes and $0.25 for each additional minute. Customers are making decisions about where they stay based on high-speed internet access availability, said Lou Paladeau, Marriott’s vice president, technology business development, in a prepared statement.
