NEW YORK- HOTEL BUSINESS® learned Maritz Wolff has pulled ahead of the pack regarding the acquisition of the Regent Summerlin, or the Regent Las Vegas, as it is now called. According to executives with the company, Maritz Wolff has made a bid on the financially-troubled property. However, the hotels owners will be waiting until September to make a final decision. It is very likely the Regent would be rebranded if purchased by Maritz Wolff- the company owns a partial stake in Fairmont and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts. –Shannon McMullen
