HONG KONG— Edouard Ettedgui, CEO of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, announced the appointment of Lay Choo Lim as group counsel, effective Jan. 1, 2003. Since joining Mandarin Oriental in January 2001, Lim has overseen all legal services for the group’s development activities including major contractual and trademark issues and the engagement of external counsel. Lim has extensive hotel legal experience and has practiced as a corporate commercial lawyer for 23 years in Hong Kong, London, Beijing, Melbourne and Kuala Lumpur. Prior to joining Mandarin Oriental, she was the principal of L.C. Kim & Co., a general corporate and commercial practice specializing in the hospitality industry. In her new position, Lim will be an executive director of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group International Limited, and will report to Ettedgui.
