OCEANSIDE, CA A Manchester Resorts official recently said that delays the company has experienced in obtaining acceptable financing for a $273 million expansion of its San Diego Hyatt Hotel and problems with that city s Port District will not affect its proposed beachfront hotel here. There is some question as to whether or not Manchester will be able to secure the necessary financing for the beachfront hotel project, but the company is confident that the project will proceed as planned.
Manchester has not yet placed a current dollar value on its proposed 400-room Oceanside project, which includes a pair of 12-story towers on two blocks south of the Municipal Pier. Before the hotel portion of the project was downsized last year, its cost was estimated at $200 million. (4/24/01)
