DUBAI—Mama Shelter plans to open a new location here in the downtown business district in 2020.
“We knew Dubai was the perfect destination for our eighth Mama Shelter hotel because the city embodies the Mama spirit with its bustling excitement and international appeal,” said Mama Shelter Founder Serge Trigano.
Olivier Granet, managing director/COO of parent company AccorHotels for the Middle East and Africa, commented, “With a portfolio of upwards of 200 hotels in the Middle East and Africa across all segments, it is a milestone for our group to bring [this]lifestyle brand to Dubai.”
The Khamas Group of Investment Companies, led by Chairman Bader Mohamed Yousuf Bukhamas, is partnering on the project.
Designed by Franklin Azzi Architecture, Mama Shelter Dubai will have 201 rooms and 80 residences. Said Azzi, “Mama will offer a unique tower to Dubai; a pure glass coat covering a wooden skin made by each room’s shutters.”
The property will feature a mix of hotel rooms and one-and two-bedroom residences featuring design elements created by interior designer Thierry Gaugain. Other features include a restaurant, rooftop bar, lobby bar, café, volleyball and basketball courts and swimming pool.
