LONDON— Millennium and Copthorne confirmed ongoing speculation that the rebranding of the former Copthorne Harbour View Hotel to The M Hotel Singapore will take place early in the new year after two years of the most comprehensive transformation of any hotel it has undertaken. “The M Hotel is a new generation business hotel built upon a promise to provide today’s business travelers with a contemporary, relaxed and productive environment that is tasteful, but not lavish; comfortable, but not stuffy; and functional with no frills,” says Roy Tan Hardy, senior vp/marketing & sales. “To put it simply, it is a hotel that provides business travelers with everything they want and nothing they don’t need.” Roy said. Millennium was said to have wanted to start the new M hotel brand some time ago, but it was reported that they held off because of the slowing economy. However, sources said plans for the new boutique-like M brand were never scrapped altogether, just put aside until Millennium & Copthorne felt it was a more “appropriate” time to launch a brand.
