WHITE PLAINS, NY— The 24th annual Las Vegas International Hotel & Restaurant Show (LVIHRS), which took place June 18-19, 2003, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, enjoyed a marked 17.7% increase in attendance over 2002, demonstrating the strength and resiliency of the Las Vegas hospitality market, as well the increasing value of the show to a national audience, said organizers. The show’s 3,030 attendees included both strong participation by local hotel properties, as well as significant growth in representation from companies based outside the region. These increases resulted from efforts of associations affiliated with the show including show owners – Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association (NH&LA), Nevada Restaurant Association (NRA), American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA), New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association (NYSHTA) and Hotel Association of New York City (HANYC) – and 2003 marketing partners California Hotel & Lodging Association and the Utah Hotel & Lodging Association) to increase member activities at and participation in the annual event.
