NEW YORK— The Embassy Suites Hotel New York City has resumed operation in lower Manhattan, ostensibly refilling its niche as “the only upscale all-suites hotel in the downtown area here.” The hotel had been temporarily closed due to the tragic events of Sept. 11, and only recently finally completed its repair and clean-up efforts. The Embassy Suites Hotel New York City includes: 463 two-room suites; a 14-story sunlit atrium; a restaurant, Unity, which showcases New American cuisine; and 15,000 square feet of event space. The hotel is part of Forest City Ratner Cos.’ extensive retail and entertainment complex in Battery Park City, and is jointly owned by Hilton Hotels Corp. and Forest City Ratner Cos., an affiliate of Cleveland-based Forest City Enterprises
