NEW YORK A London hotelier has expressed potential plans to expand his operations abroad.

Mark Lancaster, managing director of the Lancaster Court/Mayfair, an all-suite boutique hotel near London s Grosvenor Square, said that he would like to see his Lancaster Hotel brand expand throughout the world, including New York. Lancaster currently has his eye on sites in the Bay s Water section of London, and in Barcelona. I d like to think there are a series of small hotels like mine one could go to in cities throughout the world, he said.

The Lancaster Court/Mayfair is an 11-suite townhouse. Each of its units offers a sitting room, kitchen, dining area, bathroom and bedroom. The property opened in December.

Lancaster opened the hotel on his own, selecting the design and furnishings. All suites are decorated differently and offer butler service.

Lancaster is also the founder of Lancaster Estates & Developments International, which offers a one-stop-property-shop service to assist non-U.K. residents in their selection, funding, management and resale of their international residential property portfolio. (3/13/01)
