LONDON Hotel industry circles in the U.K. and the U.S. are buzzing after a U.K. law firm inadvertently revealed the names of the bidders for Granada Compass Plcs hotel chains. An e-mail was sent out by the law firm to 12 bidders, and each recipient could see the names of the others, according to overseas reports. The names are: Orient-Express Hotels Ltd.; Cinven Group Ltd.; Bass Plc; Bear Stearns Bank Plc; Nomura International Plc; Host Marriott Corp.; ING Groep NV; Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co.; Strategic Hotel Capital; Hand Picked Hotels Ltd.; HCA The Healthcare Co. and Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal. Some say, Bear Stearns is representing Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, while Morgan Stanley is representing Omni Hotels. (12/18/00)
