LONDON— The Evening Standard reports that property developers are close to securing £35 million to transform an historic Union-Castle Mail steamship into a five-star “boatel” offering luxury accommodation, bars and restaurants. Developer Chromecastle says it is in talks with hoteliers, cruise lines and private investors to secure a mixture of equity and debt to back plans for the Princessa Victoria, which will be returned to her 1940s home of West India Docks.
