ATLANTA Tom Arasi, CEO of Lodgian, said that going forward the company will be making a big push in the management arena.
The company, well known well as an owner/developer with 110 properties, is actually also a big player in the management field, since it operates the hotels it owns. It placed fifth in the HOTEL BUSINESS. Top 100 Management Companies rankings for 1999.
“We feel the time is coming up when we will look to providing more third-party management services,” Arasi told HOTEL BUSINESS.. “We are looking to participate in deals where we would not be a 100% owner, we would maybe be a minority owner.”
Lodgian is retooling its strategy since Edgecliff Holdings deal to purchase the publicly held company for $4.75 a share fell through earlier this month. Arasi, a former Bass executive, was appointed CEO just prior to that deal s ending, replacing Robert Cole. (3/12/01) Ruthanne Terrero
