SIOUX FALLS, SD— LodgeNet Entertainment Corporation, a provider of broadband, interactive television services to the hospitality industry, said it has signed an agreement with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, which will increase by approximately 20,000 the number of Starwood-affiliated guestrooms under contract for LodgeNets interactive television services. The agreement, covering owned, managed and/or franchised Sheraton and Four Points by Sheraton hotels throughout the United States and Canada, also includes renewal provisions for approximately 25,000 of the Sheraton and Four Points guestrooms LodgeNet serves today. Outside of this agreement, LodgeNet also serves other properties under the Starwood umbrella, including Westin, W and St. Regis Hotels. LodgeNet will begin installing its latest-generation interactive digital systems and services, including on-demand digital movies, digital music and music videos, Nintendo video games, other digital television programming services and additional services for the brand hotels and guests by the third quarter of 2002.
