NEW YORK— HOTEL BUSINESS® has learned the Regent Wall Street, which served as a staging center for emergency service workers in the wake of Sept. 11, will have another — albeit much happier— challenge on its hands March 16th, when it serves as the setting for the wedding reception of singer Liza Minnelli and record producer David Gest. A source indicates more than 400 celebrities and 100 camera crews will crowd the Carlson Hospitality property’s grand ballroom, where guests will be entertained by an eclectic mix of performers who will span the decades. Among them are: Charles Aznavour, Tony Bennett, Mary J. Blige, Michael Jackson & the Jacksons, Patti Labelle, Amber, Paula Abdul, Ed Ames, Ashford & Simpson, Ann Blyth, Bobby Brown, Shieley Caessar, Blu Cantrell, Kevin Ceballo, Petula Clark, Natalie Cole, Cy Coleman, Ray Conniff, Deborah Cox, Sacha Distel, The Doobie Brothers, Lamont Dozier, Michael Feinstein, Roberta Flack, Gloria Gaynor, Billy Gilman, Sam Harris, Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Little Anthony & The Imperials, James Ingram, Chuck Jackson, Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr., Michael McDonald, James Ingram, Stephanie Mills, Monica, Mya, Donnie Osmond, Billie Paul, Freda Payne, The Pointer Sisters, Debbie Reynolds, Paul Shaffer, Shaggy, Rikrok, Rayvon, Edwin Star, Taj Mahal, B J Thomas, Topol, Usher, Luther Vandross, Ben Vereen, Dionne Warwick, Deniece Williams and Trisha Yearwood. “It will be like Oscar night. All of celebrity royalty is coming out for this one,” said the hotel industry insider.— Stefani C. O’Connor
