Lighting Up The Bottom Line

NEW YORK- First-time IH/M&RS exhibitor Guy Bertelli, principal of The Crown Hospitality Group, a lighting and decor supplier, said hes seeing a new trend in hotel lighting. Hoteliers at the show seem to be steering away from the standard lamps they normally buy.

“The cost of the hotel room has gone up dramatically in the past few years so [guests]are demanding a better looking room,” said Bertelli, noting hoteliers are stepping up to the plate to create environments with products guests dont have at home.

To help meet hotel owners demands for a strong ROI, the company has gone offshore in the past two years to create FF&E products that can be delivered to the U.S lodging market at reasonable costs. (11/12/00) –Stefani C. OConnor
