NEW YORK— To stimulate travel and give “the Yanks” a break, Le Méridien Hotel Group is offering “Dollars for Pounds,” a promotion that allows Americans visiting the United Kingdom now through March 31 to enjoy deep discounts on lodging at select properties. Guests can realize 40% off the standard conversion rate on accommodations and 10% on restaurant bills for up to four people, while earning double airline miles on Continental, Delta, American Airlines and Virgin, for any stay of two nights or longer. Upon check-out the pre-discounted room rate will be charged in local currency of the hotel at the exchange rate of £1=$1.44. Rates may differ slightly due to currency fluctuation including credit card exchange rate. The offer is subject to availability and other terms and conditions may apply. “Dollars for Pounds” is available to Americans booking rooms at seven hotels— three in central London: Le Méridien Grosvenor House, Le Méridien Piccadilly and Le Méridien Waldorf; two at major airports, Le Méridien Gatwick and Le Méridien Heathrow; and also at Le Méridien Queens in Leeds and Le Méridien Victoria & Albert in Manchester.
