LONDON— Le Meridien Hotel Group appointed Karyn Marasco regional managing director/Americas & Caribbean, according to Richard Mahoney, COO. In her new position, Marasco will supervise and oversee the operations of Le Meridiens owned and managed hotels in the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America. She will be based at the companys New York regional office. Since 1997, Marasco served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Atlanta-based Lodgian, Inc., a publicly traded owner of over 100, multi-brand hotels in the United States. “Karens exceptional leadership skills and extensive knowledge of U.S. hotel markets brings a great deal to Le Meridien,” said Mahoney. “She has remarkable focus and an unmatched ability to combine high financial performance with solid guest and employee satisfaction results. We are thrilled to have her on the Meridien team.” Le Meridien is a global hotel group with a portfolio of 144 luxury and upscale hotels, with 38,085 rooms, in 55 countries worldwide.
