WASHINGTON DC Senator Bob Graham (D) from Florida opened up discussions on February 28 at the Legislative Action Summit (LAS) being held at the Loews L Enfant Plaza Hotel here by urging attendees to stay involved in political affairs year-round.
Some of the best lobbying is done at home, he said. Graham noted that by getting local congressmen involved in hospitality issues in their neighborhoods, they would be more willing to fight for legislature that positively impacts the lodging/travel industry overall.
Following Graham s speech, LAS officials and attendees prepared to present their issues on Capitol Hill, where they will talk with government officials later today. (2/28/01) Kelly Wayne
