HONG KONG— The Langham Place Hotel will open its doors in the heart of Mongkok on July 1st next year, becoming the first new five-star property to appear in Kowloon for over a decade. The 700-room hotel, which has more than 50 suites, is the flagship of a mega 1.8 million-square-foot development . Other components of the project, which encompasses four city blocks in total, include a mall with over 300 shops and a 60-story office tower. Framed by 13,000 square feet of park, lakes and waterfalls, with its own dedicated porte-cochère on Shanghai Street, the hotel is on the doorstep of Hong Kong’s most famous street-markets. The hotel, named after the legendary Langham Hotel in London and aligned with the first class strategy of LHI, features interiors by Bilkey Llinas that are based on a neo-classical interior design. The contemporary design of the hotel’s guestrooms are framed by floor to ceiling windows allowing views of Victoria Harbour. A glass wall between bathroom and bedroom allows a flood of natural light into the bathroom and the opportunity for guests to watch TV while taking a long bath. All rooms will offer free broadband access and personal safes. The propertys 354 executive rooms and 52 suites will boast bathrooms with separate bath and shower, 42” flat screen plasma televisions and three telephones, including a handy cordless phone which can be used anywhere in the hotel. Additionally, all suites will be equipped with kitchens. In addition, The Lifestyle Spa and Health Club will be located on the three top floors of the hotel. The luxury Spa, being designed by Spa Chakra, will offer seven treatment rooms for beauty, health and wellness therapies.
