LAGUNA BEACH, CA— Workers have reportedly not skipped a beat in the course of the $80-million development of the Laguna Beach Colony Hotel, a luxury resort community being constructed to five-star standards by Wentz Group. Situated on a 30-acre site, this development undertaken by The Athens Group was designed by Hill Glazier Architects as a turn-of-the-century, craftsman-style Southern California hotel and bungalows. Upon its scheduled completion in the first quarter of 2003, the 371,707-square-foot facility is slated to include 260 luxury hotel rooms, 14 condominiums, another 14 custom residential lots, and a seven-acre public park. The hotel itself will encompass an ocean-view restaurant as well as a bluff-top specialty restaurant, ballrooms, meeting rooms, a luxury spa, and several swimming pools and hot tubs.
