ATLANTA— From 2005 to 2006, U.S. lodging industry labor costs rose 6.5%, the greatest single year increase since 2001, according to data released by PKF Hospitality Research. In 2006, an estimated 44 cents of every dollar spent by hotel managers went towards employee salaries, wages, and benefits, according to PKF. This equates to 31.9% of total revenue.
