La Quinta Kicks Off Promo At Property Grand Opening

DALLAS— La Quinta Corp. kicked off a two-month long, Texas-wide celebration of its “La Quinta de Mayo promotion with the grand opening of the 276-room, eight-story San Antonio Airport La Quinta Inn & Suites in San Antonio. Beginning April 6 through May 31 guests can take advantage of special rates starting at $35 at all La Quinta hotels in Texas by requesting the “MAYO rate at the time of the reservation; or by entering the code in the appropriate field on www.laquinta.com. In addition, properties throughout Texas will sponsor guest appreciation activities and events. “La Quintas roots are in Texas and weve invested a considerable amount of our resources in maintaining a significant presence in the state,” said Francis “Butch” Cash, president/CEO. “La Quinta de Mayo is our way of celebrating our Texas heritage and saying thanks to all of our loyal guests in Texas whove continually supported us over the last 34 years. As part of the promotion, the company’s lion mascot, Keenta, will be touring the state in his Keenta Kruiser on “Keentas Texas Road Tour. Keenta will be making appearances at properties, as well as various local community events and parades. Keenta returns to spokeslion duties after making appearances during the 1980s and 1990s, and was originally used to educate guests on the correct pronunciation of the companys name.
