SAN FRANCISCO—Kimpton Boutique Hotels has named Michael DeFrino the vp of East Coast Operations. Previously, DeFrino has been the director of East Coast Operations for Kimpton Boutique Hotels and the manager of the Hotel Monaco in Washington DC. Kimpton Boutique Hotels has opened four hotels in Washington, DC in the past year, including the Hotel Monaco, the Hotel Madera, the Topaz Hotel, and the Hotel Rouge. The new Hotel Helix will open in November 2002.
