MONTREAL— Hyatt Hotels Corp. has appointed Joseph Khairallah as general manager of Hyatt Regency Montreal. The 605-room hotel was acquired by CNL Hospitality Properties in December from a third-party owner. It previously operated as the Wyndham Montreal. Khairallah is a 20-year veteran of Hyatt Hotels. Prior to his Montreal assignment, he was general manager for the Hyatt Regency Cleveland at The Arcade. In other experience he was corporate director of rooms for Hyatt Hotels Corp. in Chicago and held executive positions for Hyatt in New Orleans, Denver, Orlando and New York City. A multi-million dollar renovation of the property will be ongoing over the next year. The refurbishment will involve all areas of the hotel including guestrooms, function space, food and beverage facilities, and the lobby. One of the more noticeable changes will be the inclusion of a Regency Club lounge on the 12th floor. The 12-story hotel has 34,000 square feet of meeting space, an indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, garden terrace and fitness facilities. Additionally, Hyatt Regency Montreal features a restaurant and lobby bar.
