NEW YORK— HOTEL BUSINESS® has learned that Kerzner International will be intently focused on rolling out its new One & Only luxury hotel brand over the next several years. The One & Only brand encompasses Kerzners luxury resort hotels under one umbrella, and provides the company with a mode for expanding its high-end resort portfolio. Kerzner will be investing more than $500 million in the initiative. According to executives at the company, Kerzner plans to have as many as 20 luxury properties in its One & Only brand within five years. The company will have six such resorts by the end of next year, after it reopens the Palmilla in Mexico, which it recently purchased and closed for renovations. Other properties included in the brand are: – Le Saint Gran and Le Touessrok on Mauritius, – Ocean Club on Paradise Island, the Bahamas, – Royal Mirage in Dubai, – Kanuhura in the Maldives. Each of the resorts will offer a very distinct luxury experience, while being marketed under the One & Only brand, which is being designed to compete with the best resort chains and independent hotels in the world. The company will brand each of its new resorts going forward as One & Only, noted executives.
