MIAMI— Karisma Resorts is expanding its marketing and sales team with two new managerial positions. Gordon Tolbert joins the Karisma team as director of national sales. He will lead the retail sales efforts of six sales managers based in Miami, Dallas, Chicago and New York. Future plans are to expand the sales force by nearly 50% with additional managers on the West Coast, Atlanta and Houston, according to Karisma. Tolbert, a travel industry veteran with experience that spans over two decades, will focus on working with key travel agents who market five-star resorts. Prior to joining Karisma, Tolbert was director of sales at TransGlobal Vacations. In other experience, he held various managerial positions at Northwest Airlines, The Travel Co. and The Creative Group, all based in Minneapolis, MN. The other managerial appointment was the promotion of Jose Brache to online marketing director at Karisma, a new position. He will be responsible for all online sales and marketing efforts including the management of Karisma’s opt-in database, e-mail marketing, management and update of content, development of new websites and web-related projects, search engine optimization, online promotions and all other Internet-related activities. Prior to his appointment, Brache was overseeing Karisma’s retail efforts as well as Internet marketing. He joined Karisma in 2002. In other experience, he held various positions in the travel industry for the last 10 years. Karisma Hotels & Resorts operates five all-inclusive properties on the Riviera Maya in Mexico.
