BETHESDA, MD—JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts and Christie’s is hosting a traveling art exhibit this spring in Atlanta and Denver featuring Impressionist & Modern paintings, American art, 19th Century European art and a selection of exceptional rare and vintage timepieces.
The exhibit will be on display at the JW Marriott Atlanta Buckhead from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, April 10 through Saturday, April 12. It will then head to the JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek’s new Fireside event space from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, April 22 through Thursday, April 24.
Free and open to the public, Atlanta and Denver guests are invited to enjoy a special, first look at more than 15 artworks from the upcoming Christie’s auction, taking place in May in New York City.
Highlights include: Vincent Van Gogh’s Oude Toren Bij Zonsondergang, Pablo Picasso’s Femme Couchee et personage and Deux dames japonaises dans un intérieur, Henri Matisse’s Nu couché, and Edward Hopper’s Coast Guard Boat 1, plus sculptures by Edgar Degas and Henry Moore.
“For the past three years, we’ve hosted exclusive pop-up exhibitions in partnership with Christie’s at JW Marriott properties all over the world, but this is our first time we’ve highlighted watches and timepieces,” stated JW Marriott’s VP and global brand manager Mitzi Gaskins. “It’s exciting to see this important partnership continue to grow, and offer guests something different each time around.”
More than a dozen Christie’s luxury timepieces will also be on display at both hotels.
The traveling exhibit is part of JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts’ strategic partnership with Christie’s, which began in 2011 as part of a global brand initiative to deliver a deeper luxury guest experience at JW Marriott properties worldwide. Through public exhibitions and previews of major auctions at select JW Marriott hotels, Christie’s and JW Marriott are offering travelers a glimpse into the worlds of art.
