ATLANTA— Long-time US Franchise Systems executive vp Jon Leven has resigned, effective Dec. 31, to pursue other opportunities. Leven is the son of Mike Leven, USFS founding chairman, who stepped down earlier this year. USFS operates Microtel in the economy sector and Hawthorn Suites in the upscale extended stay tier. A third brand, Americas Best Inns, was sold earlier. In 2003, the Pritzker family, which controls Global Hyatt Corp., acquired a majority interest in USFS and subsequently integrated many aspects of Hawthorn Suites operations into Hyatt.
