SIOUX FALLS, SD—The Sheraton Sioux Falls Hotel has completed the majority of its multi-stage, $6.5-million renovation.
Located next to the Sioux Falls Convention Center, the Sheraton Sioux Falls is owned and operated by Springfield-based John Q. Hammons Hotels & Resorts (JQH).
The 243-key property’s capital improvements included a redesign of its lobby, restaurant and lounge areas. In addition, most of its guestrooms and suites have been refurbished along with the hotel’s meeting space and fitness facilities.
The common areas now offer a color palette of earth tones and blues, with wood accents and functional media incorporated. Botanical designs, unique accessories and original artwork highlighting local Sioux Falls points of interest are also featured. The refreshed lobby features the Link@Sheraton experienced with Microsoft. Strategically arranged groupings of furniture are designed to encourage conversation and are complemented by an oversized communal table in the open-air atrium.
Guestrooms feature upgraded bathrooms with oversized mirrors and granite countertops; new bedding; modern furniture and fixtures; energy efficient lighting; and fresh carpet and paint in a soothing color palette of sage, apricot and crème.
The hotel is also introducing a health and fitness program: Sheraton Fitness, Programmed by Core Performance. The comprehensive offering features a state-of-the-art gym experience, healthy dining options, video-on-demand workouts and online training.
As the final stage of the makeover, the 60 guest accommodations in the hotel’s executive tower are slated for renovation in 2014. As a part of JQH’s sustainability initiative, plans call for furniture in the executive tower improvement phase to be repurposed with local charitable organizations.
