SPRINGFIELD, MO— John Q. Hammons Hotels President Lou Weckstein, was recently inducted into Michigan State University’s School of Hospitality Business ‘Wall of Fame.’ Weckstein was honored for donating his time and talent to The School of Hospitality Business, and for his major contributions to the hospitality industry, and philanthropic organizations. Honored at a reception in New York, Weckstein and five additional inductees, including J.W. Marriott, Jr.; Emery Foster; Ronald Cichy, Ph.D.; Dan Mathews; and Donald A. Payne were honored for their distinguished careers and join 37 previously inducted alumni in the Wall of Fame. The School of Hospitality Business Alumni Associations Wall of Fame was established in 1995 to recognize those distinguished alumni leaders who have made a major contribution to their companies, the industry, and The School of Hospitality Business as an education leader. Having joined John Q. Hammons Hotels in the fall of 2001, Weckstein is responsible for overall strategic direction of the company, ensuring the highest standards continue to be met with its portfolio of 54 hotels. Weckstein received a degree in hotel and restaurant management from Michigan State University and is certified as a hotel administrator by the American Hotel & Lodging Associations Education Institute.
