WASHINGTON, DC— The J.D. Powers and Associates 2002 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Survey rated Residence Inn by Marriott the number-one hotel brand in the extended-stay category. The survey is based on responses from nearly 13,000 business and leisure hotel guests who stayed at 52 different hotel chains and/or resorts in the United States and Canada between Dec. 2001 and July 2002. Each Residence Inn offers studio, one- and two-bedroom suites with a fully equipped kitchen, including full-sized appliances, coffee maker and microwave oven. A complimentary hot breakfast buffet is served daily, in addition to a weekday evening social hour and a weekly barbecue. Other hotel amenities include daily housekeeping, complimentary grocery shopping services, exercise room, same-day dry cleaning and many locations offer in-room high-speed Internet access. The brand recently opened its 400th hotel, the Residence Inn Center City Philadelphia.
