ARLINGTON, VA — Interstate Hotels & Resorts has been chosen to manage Plaza Towers, a 56-all suite luxury hotel currently under construction in downtown Iowa City, Iowa. Slated for a late 2005 completion, the extended-stay hotel is part of a $27-million mixed-use development, which will include a 14,000-square-foot grocery store, 4,000 square feet of ground-level retail space, a health club, a conference center, 27 apartments and 28 condos. Hotel suites will feature high-speed Internet access, custom-built kitchens and floor-to-ceiling wall-to-wall windows. Public areas will include a lobby staffed 24 hours, an upscale 4,000 square-foot restaurant and lounge, a holistic healing center including massage therapy and a 6,000 square foot roof terrace.
