GREAT NECK, NY— InnVest Hotel Brokers LLC here has added Peter Avalone, a senior real estate investment banker, to the company’s rolls as managing director of loan brokerage. In his new post, Avalone will be primarily responsible for arranging all types of financing for the firm’s clients. Formerly in charge of commercial real-estate lending for a large international investment bank, Avalone reportedly originated more than $750 million in construction loans (with an important sector of the portfolio comprised of extended-stay and luxury properties). More recently, Avalone served as managing partner of his own firm, providing advice on acquisitions, as well as arranging land, construction and permanent loans to several large developers active in the hospitality sector. In another move, InnVest has hired Julie Chan to fill the responsibilities of assistant broker, helping pull together hotel asset transactions, as well as investment analyses. Before joining InnVest Hotel Brokers, Chan began her career with The Warwick Hotel and The Hotel Wales in New York, and also served with the independent hotel chain, Warwick International Hotels.
