SAN FRANCISCO—The 22-room Inn at the Presidio here will soon be expanded to include an additional four rooms in a nearby historic house.
The guestrooms, a project of the Presidio Trust, will be located in a rehabilitated historic house on Funston Avenue, just down the street from the Inn at the Presidio. Funston Avenue, also known as “Officers’ Row” is lined with wood-frame homes that make up the oldest intact streetscape in San Francisco. The homes were built circa 1862 for U.S. Army officers and their families.
Like the Inn at the Presidio, the Funston House’s interior will celebrate the Presidio’s past with artisan details and memorabilia, complemented by comfortable, modern furnishings, according to the company. Historic photographs and contemporary regional art will bring to life the park’s military history and natural setting.
The $1-million renovation includes four bedrooms, a common living room, dining room, service kitchen and outdoor porch and patio.
Waterford Hotels and Inns, LLC, the operator of the Inn at the Presidio, will also manage the Funston House.
