BEVERLY HILLS, CA— A multi-million dollar public and private area renovation of the Inn at Beverly Hills has been announced by Gemstone Hospitality, the propertys management company. In related news, the 46-room hotel has changed its name from the Beverly Hills Inn to the Inn at Beverly Hills to celebrate its new appearance. Gemstone also announced the appointment of Jeffrey Solenberger as general manager of the hotel. Beginning this month, the Inn at Beverly Hills, built in 1958, will undergo a renovation that will create an entirely new interior with expanded landscaping and decor for common areas. The improvements will be completed by October 2002, according to Gemstone, with the first floor of the remodeled guestrooms and suites available this August. The common areas of the hotel, including the palm-flanked pool area, Garden Hideaway Restaurant and Bar and lobby area, will be remodeled to maximize space by removing existing walls and barriers. Internet stations adjacent to the bar area will allow guests to check e-mail, download maps and get information about Beverly Hills shopping, restaurants and area businesses. In addition, private cabanas will flank the pool area and feature DSL connections, private phone lines and food and beverage service. New beds, floor covering and textured walls will be put into the guestrooms. In-room amenities will include DSL access, in-room movies, dual-line phones, Bose CD-Radios, plush terry bathrobes and complimentary newspaper and fresh juice service each morning. Additionally, a new fitness area is being constructed with elliptical, treadmill and free weights. Duncan & Miller Design is the lead interior and architectural design firm for the renovation of the Inn at Beverly Hills. Solenberger, the newly appointed general manager, has nearly 20 years in hospitality management. He has served in management assignments for a number of hotels and resorts including: the Highlands Inn in Carmel, CA; the Inn at Morro Bay in Morro Bay, CA; Beaver Creek Lodge in Beaver Creek, CO; and La Posada de Santa Fe in Santa Fe, NM. Most recently, the was with the 126-room Barnabeys Hotel in Manhattan Beach, CA.
